Early Life

Hamilton, the third child in his family, was born to a family where his father worked as a caricaturist and his mother was a school teacher. At the age of 14, he graduated from Westminster College in East Wilmington.

Writing Career

Hamilton’s debut in science fiction came in 1926 with the story “The Monster-God of Mamurth,” published in Weird Tales. He quickly became a key member of the group of writers published in the magazine, alongside renowned writers like Howard Lovecraft and Robert Howard.

Legacy

Hamilton’s works, such as the Curt Newton series and the Starwolf trilogy, earned him a place of respect in the science fiction community. His contributions to the genre, including early concepts of robots and space exploration, have left a lasting impact.

Personal Life and Passing

In 1946, Hamilton married fellow writer Leigh Brackett. After a successful career, he passed away on February 1, 1977, leaving behind a legacy of pioneering science fiction works.
