Pauline Trigère was a French-born American fashion designer known for her innovative ideas and minimalist style. She was born in Paris, France in 1909 to Russian Jewish immigrant parents. Growing up in a family involved in sewing, Pauline learned the craft from a young age.

After moving to America in 1937, Pauline pursued her dream of becoming a fashion designer. Facing personal hardships, including a divorce and raising two sons on her own, she founded her own fashion house in 1942. Her elegant designs quickly gained recognition and by 1945, Pauline Trigère became a respected name in the New York fashion scene.

Throughout the 1950s, Trigère’s collections garnered attention for their glamour and sophistication, attracting clients like the Duchess of Windsor and Hollywood celebrities. She won several prestigious awards for her work and even designed costumes for films.

Later in her career, Trigère transitioned into teaching and creative endeavors, always maintaining her unique sense of style. She continued to inspire others and received recognition for her contributions to the fashion industry, even earning the French Order of the Legion of Honour.
